Mark Hannam spent fourteen years working in the financial services industry, including three years at the Bank of England where he was a Senior Manager in the Foreign Exchange Division, and seven years at Barclays Global Investors, where he was a Managing Director in the Global Index and Markets Group.
Since leaving the City in 2005, Mark has been appointed to several Non-Executive Director positions. Currently he is the Chair of Fair Finance, the London-based microfinance company. He is also the Deputy Chair of the University of East London, and the Independent Director of the Institutional Money Market Funds Association. In addition to his Board roles he undertakes occasional consultancy projects via his company, Old School Advisory Ltd.

Mark has a PhD in philosophy and is an Honorary Research Fellow at the Institute of Philosophy at the University of London.
